Italy is on course to elect the country's first female prime minister with Giorgia Meloni's Fratelli d'Italia (Brothers of Italy) party set to gain 26.4% of the vote.
Meloni's right-wing coalition, including Matteo Salvini's Lega, former PM Silvio Berlusconi's Forza Italia and Noi Moderati, is set to win 44.43% of the vote.
On Monday morning, Italy's main center-left party conceded defeat, according to Reuters.
The Brothers of Italy party was founded in 2012, has roots in the neo-fascist movement that emerged after the death of fascist leader Benito Mussolini in 1945.
