On Tuesday, the stock market fell sharply following August's inflation report, where inflation reportedly increased by 0.1% from an expected decline of 0.1%
The Dow Jones Industrial Average down 3.94%, The S&P 500 down 4.32%, and the Nasdaq Composite down 5.16%.
Tech stocks were hit hard, with Facebook-parent company Meta down 9.4% and chip giant Nvidia down 9.5%.
Only five stocks in the S&P 500 finished in positive territory.
The unexpectedly increase in the August report could lead the Fed to continue its aggressive hikes longer than some investors had anticipated.
