On Monday, a 6.8 magnitude earthquake hit a mountainous area in the Sichuan region in southwestern China, leaving at least 46 people dead.
The epicentre lies 260km (161 miles) from the provincial capital Chengdu, which is currently under lockdown due to a Covid-19 outbreak.
The epicentre lies about 40km from the centre of Luding county, home to 84,000 residents, and about 50km from the city of Kangding.
Fourteen people were killed in Shimian county and another seven in Luding county, with over 31 people injured, according to state broadcaster CCTV.
More than 500 rescuer workers have been dispatched to the affected zone and a highway has been closed off to ensure smooth passage for relief convoys.
Since Thursday, authorities in Chengdu imposed a lockdown due to a growing Covid-19 outbreak and residents were told to stay home.
