On Monday, Britain's ruling Conservative Party have elected Liz Truss as their new leader, becoming the new prime minister of the UK.
Truss, the UK's foreign minister went on to beat contender Rishi Sunak, the former finance minister for the leadership of the party.
With a 82.6% turnout, Truss received 81,326 votes (57%), while Sunak received 60,399 votes (42%).
Truss won't immediately take office, the outgoing prime minister, Boris Johnson, must first present his resignation to Queen Elizabeth II, who then appoints Truss.
