On Friday, Russian energy giant Gazprom halted gas flows through the Nord Stream 1 pipeline to Germany, due to equipment issues and citing a gas leak.
The leak was discovered in the main gas turbine at the Portovaya compressor station near St. Petersburg, according to Gazprom.
The energy giant said the pipeline would restart when all necessary repairs had been made, but gave no time frame on when it would finish repairs.
In June, Russia reduced flows through the pipeline to 40% of capacity, this further decreased to 20% in July.
