Dutch BioTech Company Meatable Reveals Pork Sausages Grown from a Single Pig Cell

Meatable, a Dutch biotech company developing "lab-grown" meat products, has revealed the first photographs of its pig sausage.
Founded in 2018, Meatable cultivate its synthetic meat products using opti-ox technology, requiring only a single cell from the umbilical cord of an animal.

The announcement marks the transition of Meatable's lab-grown research into something closer to a finished product.

Meatable estimate that it will take another three years to launch its product commercially, due to the barriers this kind of technology face.
In March, the Dutch House of Representatives passed a vote which allows people to taste cultured meat in controlled settings.

Singapore is the only market in the world where it's legal to sell lab-grown meat.
