Amazon has agreed to simplify the process of canceling Prime in the EU, allowing users to end their subscription with only two clicks.
On July 1st, the firm will remove "multiple pages" filled with "distracting information" that Amazon previously used to make the cancellation process more difficult.
In January 2021, Amazon agreed to change following a complaint by EU consumer organizations, which published a report on Amazon's Prime cancellation process.
Customers had to previously go through multiple pages to cancel a subscription, which contained "manipulative design techniques" also known as "dark patterns.
The European Commission says the changes apply to the European Union and European Economic Area.
The changes will be made across desktop, mobile, and tablet.
