Dr. Jordan Peterson is Suspended from Twitter Following Elliot Page Remark

Psychologist Dr. Jordan Peterson, 59, is suspended from Twitter due to a remark about transgender actor Elliot Page that went against the service's terms.

'Wow. @jordanbpeterson got a twitter strike. No more twitter until he deletes the tweet. Definitely not a free speech platform at the moment @elonmusk,'

In December 2020, 'The Umbrella Academy' star Elliot Page, formerly known as Ellen, announced his transition.

On June 24, Peterson tweeted 'Remember when pride was a sin? And Ellen Page just had her breasts removed by a criminal physician.'

Peterson's account was shortly suspended for violating Twitter rules, specifically those against hateful conduct.

Dr. Peterson later posted a response on YouTube, stating that the temporary suspension might as well be a ban since he would 'rather die' than delete the tweet in question.

He goes on to deconstruct his tweet and to defend his action, and claims that 'There are no rules on Twitter except don’t do what we don’t like today.'
