Russian military are now in control of the battered city of Severodonetsk in eastern Ukraine, according to mayor.
Severodonetsk, once home to about 100,000 residents, has seen violent street fighting, and the majority of its citizens have fled.

With the capture of the city, Russia has gained control over the majority of the Donetsk and Luhansk regions, which together make up the Donbas.
