On Monday, tens of thousands of people gathered outside the Georgian parliament last night, in support of the nation's EU membership bid.
Ukraine, Moldova, and Georgia all filed for EU membership following Russia's invasion of Ukraine on February 24.
On Friday, the European Commission recommend that the European Council grant candidate status to Kyiv and Chisinau, but not Tbilisi.
Tbilisi has to fulfill a number of conditions before being granting its candidate status, such as ending political polarization, progress on media freedom, judiciary and electoral reforms as well as "de-oligarchisation."
Georgia's desire to join both the EU and NATO, has long sparked tension with the Kremlin, culminating in Russia's invasion of Georgia in 2008.
