Volkswagen to Overtake Tesla as the World’s Largest Electric Car Maker by 2024, Study Says

By 2024, Tesla will no longer be the largest EV manufacturer in the world, according to Bloomberg Intelligence.

It predicts that Volkswagen (VW) will become the world's largest producer, with growing sales in Europe and China.
The study expects the German firm to double its production to more than 2 million battery-powered vehicles in 2024.

VW's focus is on Europe and is expected to expand further in China rather than America. US sales account for less than 10% of VW's total sales.

Ford and General Motors, are unlikely to catch up as rapidly as Volkswagen due to rising battery costs and limited production capacity.
Tesla is expected to continue be the top Electric Vehicle (EV) seller in the US for some time.

Tesla accounted for 75% of US EV sales in the first quarter of this year.
