Demonstrators hit the streets of London under the slogan "We Demand Better" as low-paid workers cannot keep up with rising inflation.
According to the Office for National Statistics, public sector workers wages increased by only 1.5% compared to last year.
Inflation has risen to a 40-year high of 9%.
Members of the National Union of Rail, Maritime and Transport Workers (RMT) joined the protest, announcing a three days strike.
The union claims it may be the biggest strike in rail history, grinding operations to a halt throughout the nation.
For the first time in 35 years, the Communication Workers Union representing workers from BT, Openreach and EE will vote for national strike action.
At least thirty unions were invited to join the march, representing workers in education, transport, health, civil servants, hospitality, engineers and scientists.
