Eurovision Rules Out Ukraine as Host Due to the War, UK Asked to Step In

The European Broadcasting Union (EBU) says that the 2023 Eurovision Song Contest (ESC) cannot take place in Ukraine due to the ongoing war in the country.
Ukrainian bank Kalush Orchestra won this year's contest in Turin with the song "Stefania."

The ESC winnter traditionally hosts the contest the following year.

However, Ukraine's public broadcaster says they are unable to meet the operational and security requirements to host the competition.
The EBU is currently in talks with the UK to host it instead, they came in second with the song "Space Man" by Sam Ryder.
