Three ‘Avatar: The Last Airbender’ Animated Films in the Making at Paramount and Nickelodeon

Paramount and Nickelodeon, has announced that three animated "Avatar" movies are in the works at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival.

The movies are based on "Avatar: The Last Airbender," the anime-influenced TV series about a boy who can manipulate water, earth, fire and air.
Lauren Montgomery, who previously worked on "Avatar: The Last Airbender," is directing the unnamed film.

The co-creators of "Avatar: The Last Airbender," Bryan Konietzko and Michael DiMartino, will team up with Eric Coleman to produce the "Avatar" films.

Paramount did not share any plot details about the upcoming trilogy.
The animated show aired on Nickelodeon from 2005 to 2008.

It inspired the spinoff "Legend of Korra," as well as an upcoming live-action show on Netflix.
