On Sunday, Paramount/Skydance's Top Gun: Maverick has become the second film to surpass $1 billion worldwide box office during the pandemic period.
Over a period of 31 days, the aviators reached $1 billion with $521.7M domestically and $484.7M from the international box office.
What is impressive is that the movie managed to do this well without the Chinese and Russian markets.
The film has become Tom Cruise's biggest movie ever globally, in a career that has spanned 40 years.
