She has overtaken Thailand's King Bhumibol Adulyadej, who reigned for 70 years and 126 days between 1946 and 2016.
Louis XIV of France who became king at the age of four, holds the record for the longest reigning monarch, with 72 years and 110 days reign from 1643 until 1715.
If the Queen is still reigning in May 2024, she would take the title of the longest reigning monarch of a sovereign state.
