Israeli Forces Kill At Least 31 Palestinians Near Aid Site in Gaza, Medics Say

Israeli forces have killed dozens of Palestinians near aid distribution centers in Gaza operated by the U.S.-backed Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF) on Tuesday. Israeli troops say they fired warning shots at people they considered threats, while witnesses report indiscriminate firing on civilians trying to reach aid. Local health officials reported that at least 31 people were killed and over 200 were wounded.

Gaza is suffering extreme shortages of food and basic supplies after a nearly three-month Israeli blockade and military campaign, pushing the territory to the brink of famine. Israel has set up a new aid distribution system run by the GHF with military protection intended to prevent Hamas from diverting aid. However, the UN and aid groups have refused to cooperate with this system, citing violations of humanitarian principles by restricting access and allowing Israel control over aid distribution.
