Israeli Strikes in Northern Gaza Kill at Least 48, Hospital Says

Israeli airstrikes on Gaza continued Wednesday, killing at least 48 Palestinians, including 22 children and 15 women, specifically in Jabalia and surrounding areas, according to local hospitals. Israel has warned Gaza residents to evacuate areas it claims are used by militants.

The airstrikes are part of Israel’s ongoing military campaign aimed at dismantling Hamas, which began after the October 2023 Hamas attack that killed over 1,200 Israelis. The death toll in Gaza now exceeds 52,900, with most casualties being civilians.

Meanwhile, Israel’s blockade of Gaza, which has lasted over ten weeks, has exacerbated the humanitarian crisis, preventing food, medicine, and supplies from entering. The United Nations and aid groups have condemned the blockade, with French President Emmanuel Macron calling it a “disgrace.”
