China has issued new travel and study advisories for Chinese citizens amid escalating tensions with the United States, citing deteriorating trade relations and growing security concerns in the U.S.
China’s Ministry of Culture and Tourism has urged citizens to reconsider their travel plans and proceed with caution when visiting the country. The warning followed the Trump administration’s latest tariffs on Chinese goods, prompting Beijing to retaliate with an 84% levy on all U.S. imports, deepening the ongoing trade war between the two nations.
China’s Ministry of Education also warned students about studying in certain U.S. states, referencing a controversial Ohio bill targeting foreign influence, particularly from China, and imposing new restrictions on educational exchanges and diversity initiatives at public universities. The bill is pending approval by the state Senate and Governor Mike DeWine.
