Musk responded on social media, dismissing the criticism as a tired attack and defending his gesture. Some supporters on X (formerly Twitter) defended him, explaining the gesture as a display of heartfelt gratitude.
The Anti-Defamation League (ADL) dismissed the claim, stating that it appeared to be an awkward gesture of enthusiasm rather than a nazi salute. However, Charlotte Knobloch, the president of the Jewish community in Munich, called the gesture “highly irritating” and raised concerns about Musk’s political stances, particularly his support for the far-right Alternative for Germany (AfD) party.
