Mexico Sends Firefighters to Help California Wildfires

A team of 72 Mexican firefighters, including military specialists, doctors, engineers, and rescue personnel, has joined US efforts in battling the ongoing wildfires in Southern California, Reuters reports.

The wildfires, which have been burning since Tuesday, have claimed at least 24 lives and displaced 90,000 residents, devastating an area the size of Washington, D.C.

The Mexican team will work alongside firefighters from seven US states and Canada to help contain the fires. Their deployment may last from one to three weeks. Mexican officials emphasized the importance of international cooperation in responding to the crisis.
