Donald Trump made a show by climbing into a garbage truck labeled with his name at a rally in Green Bay, Wisconsin, after President Joe Biden had reportedly referred to Trump’s supporters as “garbage,” AP News reports.
Trump, wearing a safety vest, referred to the garbage truck as a tribute to Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris. The event followed controversy at a Trump rally sparked by comedian Tony Hinchcliffe, who made offensive remarks about Puerto Rico, referring to it as a “floating island of garbage.” Trump distanced himself from the comedian, stating that he did not know Hinchcliffe personally, insisting that he loves Puerto Rico and that Puerto Ricans love him back.
Trump’s stunt was a response to Biden’s remark made during a call, which he later attempted to clarify, stating he meant to condemn Trump’s derogatory comments about Latinos.
