The Trump campaign has framed the incident as clear foreign interference, criticizing the Labour Party’s influence on American policies. Starmer dismissed the accusations and downplayed the potential impact of the complaint on US-UK relations, asserting that the volunteers were acting independently in their own time.
US election rules allow foreign nationals to volunteer for campaigns but prohibit them from making financial contributions.
