US Warns Israel to Improve Humanitarian Situation in Gaza or Risk Military Aid

The Biden administration has warned Israel that it must increase humanitarian aid to Gaza within the next 30 days or risk losing access to US weapons funding, AP News reports.

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken and Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin outlined specific requirements in a letter, they emphasized that Israel must allow at least 350 trucks of aid per daily, implement humanitarian pauses, and enhance security for aid sites. The letter reflects growing US frustration over Israel’s military operations, which have resulted in significant civilian casualties and worsened humanitarian conditions.

Recent reports indicate that aid entering Gaza has fallen sharply, with humanitarian agencies facing significant restrictions on their operations. The US has reiterated its support for Israel but is balancing its continued support for Israel with pressure to ease the humanitarian situation.
