Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei made his first public appearance on Friday since Iran’s missile attack on Israel, which he labeled as legitimate retaliation for alleged Israeli crimes, Reuters reports.
Khamenei called for increased resistance against Israel and encouraged regional adversaries to intensify their efforts against Israel, which he described as an “aggressive enemy.” He asserted that Iran’s recent missile strike against Israel was a justified response to the recent killings of Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah and Hamas chief Ismail Haniyeh, which Iran blames on Israel, although Israeli officials have not claimed responsibility.
Khamenei expressed solidarity with regional resistance movements, framing the US and its allies as protectors of Israeli interests while seeking to exploit regional resources. He expressed support for ongoing struggles against Israel, stating that any strike against it benefits the region and humanity as a whole.
Additionally, the deputy commander of Iran’s Revolutionary Guards warned that Iran would target Israel’s energy installations if Israel were to launch an attack against Iran.
