At Least 37 Killed After Israeli Airstrikes in Gaza, Palestinian Medics Say

Israeli airstrikes in Gaza killed at least 37 people, including women and children, according to local medics, Reuters reports.

The Israeli military confirmed it had targeted Hamas command centers. Palestinian health officials reported that two strikes on homes in Nuseirat killed at least 13, while another strike on a school sheltering displaced families in Gaza City killed at least seven. Additional strikes in Rafah and Khan Younis also resulted in multiple deaths. The Israeli military claimed that Hamas was using civilian facilities for military operations, Hamas denies these allegations.

The violence escalated as Israel initiated a ground operation against Hezbollah in Lebanon. The ongoing violence has led to significant casualties and displacement in Gaza, with over 41,600 reported deaths since the conflict began after Hamas’s October 7 attack on Israel, which killed 1,200 people and led to more than 250 hostages being taken.
