Israeli Military Intercepts Missile Fired from Yemen

Air raid sirens were triggered across central Israel, including Tel Aviv, on Saturday after a missile from Yemen was intercepted by the Israeli military, Reuters reports.

Yemen’s Houthi militants claimed responsibility, saying they targeted Ben Gurion International Airport to coincide with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s return from the UN General Assembly. This was the second Houthi missile attack on Israel in two days, following a previous interception.

The attacks followed the death of Hezbollah leader Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, an ally of the Houthis, who was killed in an Israeli airstrike in Beirut.
