Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, while heading to the UN to address the situation, has yet to respond formally to the ceasefire proposal but has ordered the military to maintain operations.
The Israeli military launched new airstrikes on Hezbollah targets in Lebanon, following a week of intense bombardment that resulted in over 600 deaths. Hezbollah has retaliated with missile strikes, including an attack on Tel Aviv.
