Iran’s Revolutionary Guards announced the arrest of 12 individuals accused of collaborating with Israel and planning security-related attacks in Iran, Reuters reports.
The arrests, made in six provinces, are linked to rising tensions in the Middle East, as Israel and Hezbollah engage in heavy cross-border fire amidst the ongoing Gaza conflict. Iran accuses Israel and its Western allies of attempting to destabilize Iran after failing to achieve their goals in Gaza and Lebanon.
The arrests follow attacks, including a recent sabotage and detonation of communication devices used by Hezbollah and the assassination of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran, for which Israel has not claimed responsibility.
