100 Killed, 400 Wounded After Israeli Airstrikes in Lebanon

Israel conducted extensive airstrikes on over 300 Hezbollah targets in Lebanon, resulting in at least 100 deaths and injuring over 400 people, according to Lebanon’s Health Ministry, Reuters reports.

The Israeli military claimed to have struck multiple Hezbollah positions across southern Lebanon, the Bekaa Valley, and northern regions. In retaliation, Hezbollah launched rockets at Israeli military positions. Israeli officials warned civilians to evacuate areas where Hezbollah was allegedly storing weapons. Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant emphasized that military actions would continue until residents in northern Israel can safely return home.

These attacks follow a series of cross-border exchanges as Israel shifts focus to its northern border, where Hezbollah has been launching rockets in support of Hamas. Hezbollah has recently faced significant setbacks, including the sabotage and detonation of its communication devices and targeted airstrikes that killed senior commanders and fighters.
