North Carolina Republican Governor Candidate Denies Calling Himself Black Nazi

North Carolina’s Republican candidate for governor Mark Robinson vowed to remain in the race after a CNN report claims that he made controversial posts on a pornography website, Reuters reports.

The report claims Robinson, an African American, once referred to himself as a “black NAZI!” and advocated for the return of slavery in posts from 2008-2012. Robinson denied making the comments, calling the CNN report “salacious tabloid lies.” The North Carolina Republican Party backed Robinson, dismissing the accusations as part of a smear campaign.

Robinson, endorsed by Donald Trump, is running against Democratic candidate Josh Stein, the state’s attorney general, who condemned Robinson, while some Republicans expressed concern over the allegations.
