Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah vowed to continue daily strikes on Israel despite the recent sabotage and detonation of the group’s communication devices, which is widely believed to have been carried out by Israel, AP News reports.
These attacks, affecting pagers and walkie-talkies, killed at least 37 people and injured around 3,000 people in Lebanon and Syria. Nasrallah acknowledged the attacks as a significant blow, stating that Israel had crossed all “red lines” and promised severe retaliation against Israel, which has neither confirmed nor denied responsibility for the sabotage.
Hezbollah launched multiple strikes on northern Israel in retaliation, killing two Israeli soldiers. Israel responded with airstrikes in southern Lebanon, claiming to have struck hundreds of rocket launchers and other Hezbollah infrastructure.
Nasrallah stated that Israelis displaced near the Lebanon border would not return until the war in Gaza ends, emphasizing Hezbollah’s support for Hamas. Israeli leaders have warned of possible larger military action against Hezbollah.
