Trump, who had previously debated President Joe Biden in June, claimed he won the debate on social media, but several polls indicate that Harris outperformed Trump in their recent debate. Reuters/Ipsos poll revealed that 53% thought Harris won the debate, while only 24% favored Trump. Republican donors and advisers believed Harris performed better due to Trump’s inability to stay on message.
The debate drew significant viewership, with 67.1 million TV viewers. Harris expressed willingness for another debate, but Trump insisted there would be no third debate. The poll showed that 54% of voters felt that one debate between Trump and Harris was sufficient.
