OpenAI announced on Thursday that it now has over 1 million paying users for its business products, including ChatGPT Enterprise, Team, and Edu, up from 600,000 users in April, Reuters reports.
The company is considering higher subscription prices for upcoming large-language models, such as “Strawberry” and “Orion,” with discussions mentioning potential prices up to $2,000 per month. Current pricing for ChatGPT Plus is $20 per month, while OpenAI’s free tier is widely used. Last week, OpenAI reported that ChatGPT has over 200 million weekly active users, doubling since last fall.
OpenAI is also working on “Strawberry,” which aims to enhance AI models’ capabilities through post-training techniques. Meanwhile, there are discussions about potential investments from Apple and Nvidia, which could value OpenAI at over $100 billion.
