Former Republican Rep. Liz Cheney announced her support for Vice President Kamala Harris for president, citing the danger she believes Donald Trump poses to the country, AP News reports.
Cheney, a prominent critic of Donald Trump and co-chair of the House investigation into the Jan. 6 Capitol attack, made the announcement at Duke University. She emphasized the danger Trump poses to the country and expressed that, as a conservative who values the Constitution, she would not vote for Trump but instead for Harris.
Cheney, daughter of former Vice President Dick Cheney, joins other Republicans, including Adam Kinzinger and Denver Riggleman, in endorsing Harris. Trump campaign spokesperson Steven Cheung dismissed Cheney’s relevance.
