Kamala Harris Vows Tougher Approach on Migration, Supports Weapons for Israel

Democratic presidential nominee Kamala Harris discussed her policy positions, including a tougher approach to migration at the US southern border and affirmed her support for Israel, in an interview with CNN, Reuters reports.

Harrios emphasized a tougher stance on illegal border crossings, promising to enforce laws and push for comprehensive border legislation. Harris also reaffirmed strong support for Israel, rejecting calls to withhold weapons despite the ongoing conflict in Gaza, and stressed the need for a ceasefire. She defended her and the Biden administration’s handling of inflation, attributing the economic challenges to the aftermath of the pandemic and Trump’s mismanagement while acknowledging that prices remain high. She also expressed interest in including a Republican in her cabinet if elected, to encourage diverse perspectives.

Harris, who has shifted more toward the center on certain issues since her 2020 presidential run, maintained that her core values remain unchanged. Harris dismissed recent criticisms from Donald Trump, who responded to the interview by challenging her qualifications.
