Three Dead After Stabbing Attack at Festival in Germany

A stabbing attack at a festival in the western German city of Solingen, resulted in three deaths and four others seriously wounded, Reuters reports.

The incident took place during a festival celebrating the town’s 650th anniversary, in a market square where live bands were performing. The assailant, described as a single unidentified male, targeted multiple individuals before fleeing the scene. The police have described the incident as a targeted attack on human life but have not yet determined a motive. The assailant remains at large, prompting an ongoing manhunt.

Solingen’s mayor Tim-Oliver Kurzbach expressed deep sorrow over the tragedy. Fatal stabbings and shootings are relatively uncommon in Germany, but this incident has sparked renewed concerns about public safety.
