Kamala Harris Accepts Presidential Democratic Nomination at DNC

US Vice President Kamala Harris has accepted the Democratic nomination for president at the Democratic National Convention in Chicago, urging Americans to move beyond political division and embrace unity, AP News reports.

Harris, the first Black woman and person of South Asian descent to lead a major party’s presidential ticket, emphasized her background as a prosecutor and her commitment to protecting American interests. She contrasted herself with Donald Trump, whom she accused of prioritizing his own interests, promising to be a president for all Americans.

In her speech, Harris highlighted her personal story, her law enforcement career, and her experience as vice president. Harris also addressed key issues such as national security, abortion rights, and support for Israel, while acknowledging the suffering in Gaza. She criticized Trump and Republicans for their stance on abortion and other policies, pledging to restore nationwide abortion access and make other policy reforms.
