The bodies of six Israeli hostages recently retrieved from Gaza showed signs of bullet wounds, according to the Israeli military and the Hostage Families Forum, Reuters reports.
Four additional bodies, presumed to be Hamas militants, did not show signs of bullet wounds. This revelation comes amid ongoing ceasefire talks between Israel and Hamas, with 109 hostages still believed to be held in Gaza, around a third of whom are thought to be dead. The Hostage Families Forum criticized the Israeli government, saying the recovery of the bodies reflects a failure to secure the hostages’ release in time.
Despite repeated attempts, a truce deal between Israel and Hamas has yet to be reached, with both sides sticking to their demands. The conflict, which began on October 7, has resulted in significant casualties on both sides.
