US border agents intercepted a truck carrying over $5 million worth of methamphetamine hidden among a shipment of watermelons at the US-Mexico border, BBC reports.
The drugs were wrapped in green plastic to resemble the fruit and were mixed with real watermelons. Officers seized more than two tonnes of meth, totaling 1,220 packages and the truck driver was handed over to Homeland Security officials. Smugglers often hide drugs in produce shipments, with recent seizures in banana, cheese, and avocado shipments.
