Jennifer Lopez has filed for divorce from Ben Affleck, ending their high-profile relationship that spanned two decades, including two engagements, and two weddings, AP News reports.
The filing made in Los Angeles, marks the end of their second attempt at marriage. Lopez cited April 26, 2024, as the date of separation and did not mention a prenuptial agreement.
Lopez and Affleck initially dated and got engaged in the early 2000s but broke up due to public pressure. They rekindled their relationship years later, marrying twice in 2022, a quick ceremony in Las Vegas followed by a larger celebration in Georgia. Both Lopez and Affleck had previous marriages before reuniting, Affleck was married to Jennifer Garner and Lopez had been married to Ojani Noa, Cris Judd, and Marc Anthony.
Lopez is currently taking time off from her career, including canceling her 2024 tour, to focus on family. She recently released a new album and is working on new projects, including a film inspired by her relationship with Affleck.
