The image, which showed Swift dressed in patriotic colors, was accompanied by a caption saying “Taylor Swift Wants You To Vote For Donald Trump.” The image was shared on Trump’s Truth Social account, where he added “I accept!” However, Swift has not endorsed any candidate for the 2024 election and has historically supported Democrats, including President Joe Biden in 2020.
The fake image was criticized by fans and watchdog groups as an example of the dangers of AI-generated misinformation. Trump also shared other posts, including one about “Swifties for Trump” shirts, which further fueled concerns about the spread of misleading content online.
