Israel Strike on Gaza School Kills More Than 100 People, Hamas Says

An Israeli airstrike on a Gaza school compound sheltering displaced families killed around 100 people, according to the Hamas-run Gaza government, Reuters reports.

The Palestinian Civil Defence reported over 93 deaths, including 11 children and 6 women. The Israeli military claimed it targeted Hamas militants and disputed the Palestinian death toll, stating that around 20 militants were present at the site, which they identified as a military facility used by Hamas and Islamic Jihad. The strike occurred at the Tabeen school complex in Gaza City during dawn prayers, with videos showing extensive damage and numerous casualties.

The strike has been condemned by multiple nations, including Egypt, Qatar, the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Turkey, and has intensified calls for ceasefire talks. The conflict has resulted in nearly 40,000 Palestinian deaths, according to the Gaza Health Ministry.
