Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump proposed a debate with Democratic US Vice President Kamala Harris on Fox News on September 4, diverging from their previously agreed September 10 debate on ABC, Reuters reports.
Trump’s suggestion comes following US President Joe Biden’s withdrawal from the election, he now proposes moving the debate to Fox, including a full arena audience at a Pennsylvania location. Trump also cited litigation with ABC as a reason for proposing the change. Harris insists on the original ABC debate date and confirmed her participation on September 10.
Trump’s team accused Harris of being afraid to debate and has said he will see her then or not at all. Harris’s campaign accuses Trump of “running scared” and trying to back out of an already agreed-upon debate, stating that they were open to further debates after the agreed-upon September 10 event.
