Hezbollah’s leader Hassan Nasrallah announced that the group has new weapons and intelligence capabilities to target deeper positions in Israel, amid escalating cross-border conflicts, Associated Press reports.
Nasrallah indicated that Hezbollah has improved its drone and missile technology and has significantly increased its number of fighters. He warned that any regional support for Israel, including potential use of Cypriot bases, would result in Hezbollah attacking those countries. Cyprus denied involvement in military operations, stressing its role in humanitarian aid.
Israeli military leaders have acknowledged Hezbollah’s enhanced capabilities but asserted that Israel’s defense is superior. Both sides are engaged in almost daily strikes since the Israel-Hamas war began in October. The tensions have increased following the death of a senior Hezbollah commander in an Israeli strike.
