Sherpa Guide Kami Rita Climbs Mount Everest for His Record 30th Time

Renowned Sherpa mountain guide Kami Rita achieved a historic feat by scaling Mount Everest for the 30th time, completing his second climb of the month, Associated Press reports.

Mingma Sherpa of Seven Summits Treks confirmed his good health and sand happiness upon achieving the milestone. Kami Rita, whose father was one of the first Sherpa guides, began climbing Everest in 1994 and has since become a vital figure in the climbing community. His achievements include scaling other prominent peaks like K2, Cho Oyu, Manaslu, and Lhotse.

This climbing season, over 450 climbers have ascended Everest from the Nepali side, with April and May being the preferred months for climbing due to favorable weather. Additionally, 70-year-old Wang Jian became the oldest Chinese person to summit Everest this season.
