Israeli Airstrikes Kill 35 in Gaza’s Rafah

Israeli airstrikes in southern Gaza struck tents housing displaced individuals in Rafah resulting in the deaths of at least 35 individuals, including women and children, Associated Press reports.

These airstrikes were conducted shortly after Hamas launched rockets into Israel, triggering air raid sirens as far as Tel Aviv. Israel’s military retaliated, intercepting some of the projectiles and destroying the rocket launcher in Rafah.

Meanwhile, the flow of aid into Gaza faced significant challenges as Egypt refuses to reopen its side of the Rafah crossing until control is returned to Palestinian authorities, prompting a temporary diversion of traffic through Kerem Shalom.
