World Central Kitchen (WCK) is resuming food distribution in Gaza nearly a month after seven of its aid workers were killed in an Israeli airstrike, BBC reports.
Despite the tragic incident, WCK CEO Erin Gore stated that they decided to continue their mission of providing food to the people in Gaza. The organization has 276 trucks with eight million meals ready to enter through the Rafah crossing. The charity also plans to send trucks from Jordan and use the Ashdod Port in Israel for aid delivery. WCK is one of the main suppliers of aid in Gaza and has provided over 43 million meals since October.
The organization continue to call for an impartial investigation into the deaths of their aid workers. The Israeli military admitted to “grave mistakes” leading to the fatal airstrike and dismissed two senior officers over the incident.
