Israeli Airstrikes in Gaza Kills 3 Sons and 4 Grandchildren of Hamas Leader

Israeli airstrikes in Gaza have reportedly killed three sons and four grandchildren of Hamas’ senior political leader Ismail Haniyeh, threatening to disrupt ongoing ceasefire negotiations, Associated Press reports.

The deaths of Haniyeh’s family members threatened to undermine ongoing ceasefire talks, which had shown signs of progress despite significant disparities between the involved parties’ positions. Hamas condemned the strike, alleging Israel’s motives were rooted in revenge and murder. Haniyeh responded defiantly, rejecting the notion that the strike would compel Hamas to alter its stance.

Additionally, the strike occurred amidst mounting international pressure, particularly from the United States, urging Israel to provide urgent humanitarian assistance to the embattled residents of Gaza.
