Former US Vice President Mike Pence announced that he would not endorse his former boss Donald Trump for president in the 2024 election, during an interview with Fox News, CNBC reports.
Pence highlighted Trump’s departure from conservative principles on key issues, including the national debt, the sanctity of human life, and the administration’s approach to China, notably Trump’s reversal on the TikTok issue. Pence clarified that he would not vote for Democratic President Joe Biden either and intends to keep his vote private.
Pence, who previously ran for president but dropped out in 2023, served as Trump’s vice president from 2017 to 2021, and was present during the Capitol riot on January 6, 2021, when Trump supporters stormed the Capitol while Congress was certifying Biden’s victory.
